Maggie Fick is a journalist based in Cairo. Her reporting from Egypt has been published by The Associated Press, The National, and Al-Monitor.
She previously reported from South Sudan for The Associated Press, The Christian Science Monitor, Foreign Policy, and others during the region’s transition to nationhood.
She is the author of a 2011 report for the Small Arms Survey on rebel movements in South Sudan.
From October 2011 to September 2012, Maggie studied Arabic full-time in Cairo and at the Middlebury Arabic School, which she attended on a Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace.
Maggie is a 2007 graduate of Pomona College. She was a Fulbright Research Fellow in Niger in 2007-2008.
